Poetry without the hype, just the words to hit your nerves in sparking awareness of social living.
The location was in a house at 25 Clarendon road in Walthamstow, where the mood was intimate and evolutionary.
The experience and objective reflected a serious attitude towards the craft of written verses and monolog poetry as well as artistic inclusions. Three artists read their works and one artist recited his words, as the audience of Afro-Caribbean-British gathered to express their pleasure by clapping, laughters and sounds of stimulating over-standing on the poets' and poetess' gifts of creative writings. The atmosphere was packed with people, as the heat began to show, later someone open a window, ah... the fresh air swept in the room, it seemed to cause the words of poetry to sound much clearer. Expect nothing, when the requirement is inspired sharing, the rewards of appreciations will be greater. After the reading the music continued, the djs were spinning their vinyl collections of reggae, hip-hop and old school smooth jazz. In the back-room... the kitchen... those were the procuring area to get some soya drink, juices, water and cakes. Upstairs... there were two rooms of occupying sharing on creative networking. One room had an artist showcasing the art of portrait rendering. While the other room was set for information sharing and literature distributions on books about the full-black diaspora in humanity. The evening concluded with several sub-gathering of philosophical groups in discussions about topics of social awareness and community responsibilities. It was a magnificent difference on learning to heal with positive light.

An inspired poem after writing this passage

Ghetto People a Try
Abusing me... amusing me... some a try
Everyday mi hide mi pride with a smile
Mi walk on by... mi nu like the crimes
The fakers in dem shine... stimulating egos on high
So i close mi eyes... some think mi blind
Dem still a try fi ponder who am I

This isolated guy the dread sharing the Cosmic cries
Goddess Bless with no regrets some still figet
The reasons why we dress the confusions of tests
Listening to life... living without guns and knives
Sharing words for better strides, She is not equal
Our Mothers are greater never forsake Her

Ghetto people a try, some abusing me, others amusing me
Everyday mi hide mi pride... with a smile mi walk on by
No... I am not a prophet I care not for bull-shit
Knowledge of facts we all must know that
Love the accepted key comes from seeing
Our creator is She not men in a state of greed

The Ankh Her Divine Sovereignty
Many sages spoke these words before me
Womb-man I love to see some I need to feel
Her warmth causes our blood to flow free
Children running around we, they asking questions to see
Om... the lingum, Her omnipotence in harmony
Her meditative wisdom emanating frequency of vibrating energy

Ghetto people a try... some a dem abusing me
Some a dem amusing me, everyday mi hide mi pride
With a smile mi walk on by, everything shall be fine
My sculpture for my wife & daughter Diana & Ama
My family in unity brings tears of joys
Yet some still wishing to play mi for a toy
Words without meaning communicate dreaming

In our perplexing society, screaming scheming realities
So I adjust my thoughts the angles of sought
Master, Ph.D., a foundation of degrees for others like We
The Ankh Society, VS = Vegan Shop & D-Gallery
It's not easy many only want to tease we
Promise is a comfort to the fool so I hide my moods

Emotions in strong many will say you're in the wrong
They are speaking repeating lies as truths
So the youths stay in pollute with no sense of being a brute
Human brain in a tussle regression of the muscle
Everybody trying to make a hustle
Ghetto people a cry, some abusing me, others amusing me.}
