PYRITE is new rock'n'roll stylized not from the trend of the day, but through honest creative vision. Modern rock, intelligent songs, memorable lyrics and the energy of a freight train make PYRITE a real contender for international recognition. PYRITE's recent auditions for LA Reid (President of Arista Records) have resulted in strong interest from the Grammy winning executive. Also Shawn Mullins (Columbia Records) and Kelly Hobbs of SMG Records have recently expressed interest in PYRITE.
Radio spins and in-studio performances, national opening slots (i.e., PJ Harvey), and quality shared billings (i.e., Angie Aparo, Fishbone) at larger Atlanta venues are amongst PYRITE members' experiences including recent spin on 96 Rock WKLS-FM (Atlanta, GA) and live appearances on prestigious college station WUOG 90.5FM (Athens, GA). Also, PYRITE's demo "Truth" is featured on 99X WNNX-FM (Atlanta, GA) "Locals Only" at 99X.com. Recently PYRITE was extremely well received at an on-campus live showcase at Georgia State University. Also, PYRITE performed for thousands at the 2000 Montreux Atlanta Music Festival in Atlanta's Piedmont Park (Pyrite's second Montreux Festival appearance).
Frontman Mark Adelman commands attention with a media savvy presence perfected through years of live performance, television producing and film directing (including film festival awards for music video). Watch for PYRITE's fast paced 30-second television commercial in support of upcoming live performances (NBC, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central). This band is a professional unit prepared to attack effectively, efficiently and punctually all tasks from load-in to on-air promotion with a special focus on live performance.
Upon first forming, PYRITE recorded a demo at Real to Reel Studio (Collective Soul) for booking engagements. PYRITE then formed an alliance with Songbird Studio (Sony, MCA, LaFace, Motown) to mine and polish the independent release semi precious stone. Now PYRITE is armed and ready for the majors with highly effective demo recordings from Atlanta's Southern Living at It's Finest and Athen's Chase Transduction studio (David Barbe formerly of Sugar). Also, PYRITE has caught the attention of Atlanta's Crossover Entertainment Studios resulting in a unique subsidized rehearsal agreement at this world class facility (REM, Collective Soul and TLC).
